Photo by jfravel Trampoline net. A child hurt in a trampoline related incident can be frightening for any parent or caregiver. And since most people who play on trampolines are kids, then there is a good possibility that there may be a leg or arm fracture, contusions, concussions and in rare instances, injury that results in a fatality.

At the first hint of spring, the kids are out of the house and ready to terrorize your backyard. What better way to burn off all their energy than to reach for the sky on a trampoline? We got our kids a trampoline a few years ago and they love it. Every fall we take it down and the kids get sad. But come spring time, setup is a breeze. Here’s how.

Object which you need: trampoline, trampoline net, poles to attach the trampoline net to the trampoline, hardware to attach the trampoline net to trampoline: U-bolts, Nylock nuts, acorn nuts

Trampolines and the trampoline nets for them aren’t all the same. As as result, the set ups will vary slightly. The general concept is the same. Most important is to have your trampoline set up in a safe place far from obvious dangers.

Most trampoline nets will come with their own set of instructions and additional parts. Things like washers, sprockets, the trampoline net itself and so on come in a box. If any parts are missing, call the dealer you purchased from!

Build all pole assemblies first. Next you need to attach the poles to the outside of the trampoline leg with the hardware that came with your trampoline net, making sure that the notch of the ball end cap is aligned with the trampoline rail. The top U-bolt needs to be fastened on the leg socket just below the weld and the bottom U-bolt should be about two inches above the bottom of the pole. Tighten the Nylock nuts and acorn nuts. Repeat for all poles around the trampoline.

Determine which end of the trampoline net is the top and which is the bottom. The top strap is a little wider than the bottom strap. Place looped end of the top trampoline net strap around ball end cap of first pole. Stretch trampoline net around the outside of poles in a clockwise direction. The top strap and one mesh of netting needs to rest in the groove of the ball end cap on top of each pole. Upon reaching the pole you started at, place strap and one piece of the trampoline net into the groove of ball end cap.

Pull the trampoline net to the second pole and feed the top strap through top of trampoline net close to the second pole. To secure it, wrap the strap around the ball end cap, finishing with a double knot. Wrap the excess strap around the second pole and tie off toward the bottom of the pole.

Connect the T-anchor to loop of bottom strap of inner trampoline net panel. Stretch the T-anchor to the first pole and secure it at a V-ring nearest the second pole. Lift the frame pad between the first and second poles and tuck the pad skirt up underneath the pad so that it is not hanging down in the entrance. Pull the bottom strap as close as possible to the second pole, creating an hourglass shape at the doorway where the trampoline net overlaps. Wrap bottom strap around the outer rail towards the second pole, tying a knot around the pole securely. Divide inner panel of trampoline net in half, connecting the trampoline net strap to bottom strap of trampoline net at halfway point. Connect the trampoline net strap to the closet V-ring on the trampoline mat.

Wrap a pole strap around the first pole and vertical leg piece; the strap should wrap around pole and leg below the rail. Pull the non-looped end of the strap all the way through the looped end of the strap. Wrap the pole strap around the rail and through the bottom strap of outer panel of the trampoline net. Continue wrapping the strap around the rail and bottom strap until you get to the end of the trampoline net. Secure end of the strap to the second pole with a knot.

Divide each section of the trampoline net between the poles into thirds and connect the trampoline net straps to bottom of trampoline net at each third. Standing on the outside of the trampoline, push the bottom of the trampoline net toward the middle of the trampoline over the top of the frame pad. Secure the trampoline net strap at the closest V-ring. Place the loop of the pole strap in the slot on the ball end cap, making sure that the strap hangs inside of the trampoline net.

Continue wrapping the strap around the pole till there is no more trampoline net left. At this point you should tie a knot at the end of the strap to further secure the netting.

Photo by Marcelo cK Trampoline net. Trampolines have been around for a long time and are a great form of exercise and recreation. The most frequent injuries happen when people fall off of the trampoline. In the past, spotters would stand on the ground at each side of the trampoline, hoping to push a jumper back on the trampoline if they came too close to the edge. With the trampoline net, the risk of injury to both the jumper and the spotter is greatly reduced.

Most of the time these types of injuries happen because the kids playing on the trampoline are not supervised or they ignore important safety rules. You should never put a trampoline on an uneven surface or near anything that may cause debris to fall onto the mat. Kids can also get hurt because they try to do stunts that they are not capable of doing and they end up falling off or through the trampoline. A way that you can stop this type of injury from happening is by investing in a good trampoline net.

Instructions

Decide on the type of trampoline net. There are two types of trampoline nets: those that rise above and around the bed to keep the jumper from falling off and those that hang off the bed to the ground to keep people out from under the trampoline so that they won’t get jumped on.

Install the low trampoline net. Secure the trampoline net from the top of the frame to the legs. Make sure you get the trampoline net that matches the proportions of your trampoline.

Install the high trampoline net. Unpack the trampoline net. You’ll notice that the poles come packed wrapped in foam tubes. Do not throw the tubing away. It is part of the padding that goes back around the poles as cushions.

Get a partner. Putting a trampoline net together is unwieldy business. Although a very talented and ambidextrous person could somehow manage on his own, for the rest of us, it takes at least two people.

Assemble all the poles. This will act as a base to your safety enclosure. With the tools provided, attach one pole to the outside leg of the trampoline. The pole will stand approximately 6 feet above the trampoline.

Also, measure the trampoline net before you attach it to the trampoline. The top connecting strap of the trampoline net is wider than the bottom and should therefore be at the top of the trampoline net. Once you have looped the loop-end of the strap around the poles, the trampoline net should be tucked between the safety pad and the trampoline.

Hang the trampoline net. Put the top wider strap around the cap and ball of pole 1. Moving clockwise, continue placing the trampoline net into the slots at the top of each pole. Refer to the instructions on whether the trampoline net should be placed on the outside or the inside of the poles, they differ. Secure the bottom T-anchors of the trampoline net to the V-rings of the trampoline frame rail.

Things You’ll Need:

13mm hex wrench 5mm Allen wrench 8-foot A-Frame ladder Trampoline net Poles to hold up trampoline net

Tips & Warnings

You can do it yourself, but it’s much easier and faster with help. Get one of the kids to help you out.

Always follow all of the manufacturer’s safety and maintenance guidelines. Even with a trampoline net, trampolines can be dangerous if not used properly.

A trampoline net is used to prevent trampoline users from falling off and injuring themselves. Although you can find a trampoline net at the sporting goods store, you can save a little money by making one yourself. To make a trampoline net you will need to know how to sew basic stitches and be willing to invest a day or two to construct and set up the trampoline net.

Once you have decided to purchase a trampoline, you should considering also purchasing a trampoline net as well. A trampoline net is an effective way to protect anyone using your new trampoline. Many types of trampoline nets exist as well as locations to purchase trampoline net from. Using a trampoline for exercise provides a great deal of entertainment, that you actually forget or do not realize that you are, in fact, performing exercising. Using a trampoline and bouncing provides much entertainment for both adults and children.

Having a trampoline can have a fantastic impact on everyone in the family, both young and old. Be prepared for hours of laughter and giggles as you and your kids get on the trampoline to spend quality time together. An added benefit of bouncing on a trampoline is getting a great aerobic workout without a lot of effort! Trampoline’s have been used for many, many years to help minimize the amount of impact the knees, hips and joints take; while still allowing the user to get their heart rate up and their aerobic exercise in. You can run in place on your trampoline, which will be much better for your body since you won’t be running on the hard ground and hurting your joints. This can benefit both you and your children! A trampoline offers a wide range of benefits since you are working out all major muscles to keep your balance while you are on it, as well as making you more pliant and flexible. You will move in ways you never thought possible before!

And if you are worried about actually staying on the trampoline while you are flying through the air, then have no fear. The reason you should not be concerned is the fact that most trampolines now offer trampoline nets which is made of sturdy nylon webbing. A trampoline net is a great way of ensuring that your kids stay right where they are supposed to be, on and not off, the trampoline! The webbing is put around the trampoline on poles that are covered in soft, squishy foam to prevent further injury.

Photo by hankyoyo Trampoline net. Looking for information on trampoline nets? Trampoline sustained injuries and accidents are a serious cause of concern for any parent. As children have a tendency to be the primary users of trampolines, any injury can be highly severe due to their relative size. Injuries such as breaks, spinal cord injury, and even death can occur. These injuries tend to occur when safety guidelines or rules are not adhered to. Accidents can occur for a variety of reasons, including the trampoline’s proximity to another object, attempting new tricks, or simply falling off. A way that you can stop this injury is by investing in a good trampoline net, installing a trampoline net is an excellent preventative measure. With the trampoline net, the risk of injury is greatly reduced.

Install a Trampoline Net

Take the steel or aluminum tubes from the box and put them together. The tubes usually connect to the feet of the trampoline. Some poles will have a notched end at one side. This is the top. Slide the smaller tube into the larger notched tube. Leave the foam coverings on the tubes; this is part of the finished product.

Attach the tubes to the base of the trampoline. Slide the ends of the tubes onto the tops of the trampoline base. Screw into place with a bolt and nut. The tubes should now be sticking up from the perimeter of the trampoline like spikes. Attach the balls to the top of the poles that will hold the webbing in place.

Take the webbed portion of the netting and slide through the ball on top of each pole. Knot the webbing at the base of each pole. The netting is a large, rectangular piece. Stretch out the netting and locate each part where the netting should attach to the poles. Attach the webbing first before the netting otherwise the netting will not be aligned properly.

Tie the netting to the poles and the trampoline with the ties that are included in your trampoline net kit. Each pole should have at least three loops attached to it. Tie the loops with a square knot. This ensures that the loops do not come untied if the trampoline net is bumped into by an overly-enthusiastic child.

Go around the trampoline and check that all of the parts are attached correctly. Make sure the poles are stable and not wobbly. Ensure that all ties of the trampoline net are tied where they need to go. Make sure the opening of the trampoline is accessible and can be tied shut when children are playing on the trampoline.
